Bloomfield Sophomore Performs in National Choir over February Recess

American Choral Directors Association performance

Over February break, sophomore Katie Evans performed in the American Choral Directors' Association National Treble Choir.

She sang for hours each day with 300 singers from across the country, culminating in a beautiful and inspiring performance on Saturday 2/25. Katie and others performed pieces in English, Latin, and Korean, even performing the world premiere of a Ukrainian piece by composer Iryna Aleksiychuk.

Katie sent in an audition tape back in September and once accepted, she worked for two months in preparation for the conference.

Vocal Music Teacher Laura Mohr said the experience was a great opportunity for Katie and a testament to her talent and dedication.

“This is a huge honor for Katie and for Bloomfield,” she said, “and I'm so proud of her hard work!”
