Music Program Earns Top Honors at Sherburne Pageant of Bands

The Bloomfield music program had a competition for the ages last weekend at the annual Sherburne Pageant of Bands at Sherburne-Earlville High School.

Bloomfield received the Albert E. Whitney Award for Overall Achievement among the 30 different school districts represented across New York State. This is just the second time Bloomfield has won the event’s highest honor, also earning the distinction in 2018.

Bloomfield also received Class B1 Best in Class honors, and took first place in Jazz Band, Concert Band, Small Ensemble and Color Guard, as well as second place in Percussion and Parade Band.

Those who participated were treated to a hero's welcome when they returned home, as the local fire department escorted students back into town.

Congratulations and thank you to our music program, educators, students and ever-passionate community for making this a weekend to remember!
