Bloomfield's Best Participate in Special Olympics

"Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt."

The Special Olympics athlete oath was on full display as Bloomfield's student-athletes partook in the Special Olympics Track and Field Experience and Competition for schools in the Wayne-Finger Lakes region at Sodus Central School District on Friday.

Bloomfield was one of 21 schools and programs registered for the event, which was equal parts athletic competition and community gathering. While there may have been ribbons given out to participants based on what place they finished, it was evident that everyone was a winner.

Events included a variety of Olympic-style sports like sprints, relays, throws and jumps, as well as a number of other games and activities like bowling and ring toss. The end result was a fun and fulfilling event that recognized some of the most passionate and hard-working student athletes the Wayne-Finger Lakes has to offer.
