Message from the Superintendent
Dear Bloomfield School Community,
As we move into one of the busiest and most meaningful times of the school year, our District is filled with opportunities to celebrate the hard work, creativity, leadership, and character of our students. This past week, we have had several meaningful events happen in the District, and next week will bring more. These events help showcase the many talents of our students and the dedication of our staff, families, and community members who support them every day.
This week we had the following events:
• Memorial Day Parade – On Monday morning many of our students, alumni, and community members gathered for the Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. We were proud to have many of our students participate in honoring the brave individuals who have served our country. Many of our students marched in the parade, participated in the marching band and participated in the ceremony. Thank you to all who support this important community tradition.
• K-12 Art Show - Our annual art show provided students across all grade levels the opportunity to showcase their creativity and artistic growth.
• M/HS Spring Concert – Our M/HS Spring Concert allowed students in Middle and High School Band as well as Middle and High School Chorus to showcase their talents for the community. The performance even included a combined chorus with all vocalists joining to sing The Beatles’ “Blackbird.”
• NJHS Awards Ceremony – Our National Junior Honor Society Ceremony afforded us the opportunity to recognize students for their academic achievement, leadership, service, character, and citizenship.
• Special Olympics – Today several students from the Elementary, Middle and High Schools participated in the Wayne-Finger Lakes Special Olympics in Newark. The event provided an opportunity for students from 25 different districts across the region to come together.
Next week we look forward to the following events:
• Kindergarten/Senior Journey Experience – This event will provide the opportunity to bring our kindergarten students and graduating seniors together for a time to connect as they look forward and look back.
• Field Day & Hot Dog Wars – This event provides a fun-filled day of school spirit, teamwork, and friendly competition at the Middle/High School that students look forward to each year.
These events remind us that a great school experience is not just about a great academic program; it is also about providing great opportunities that build community and celebrate students’ talents and achievements together.
As always, thank you for your continued support and partnership. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need anything.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Andy Doell
