Message from the Superintendent

Posted Date: 05/15/26 (05:00 PM)

Dear Bloomfield School Community,

As we wrap up another great week, I want to thank you for your continued support of our district and for your ongoing partnership. This time of year always brings an opportunity to reflect on all that we have accomplished together, and I continue to be incredibly impressed by the hard work, talent, and dedication of our students.

Our students are making a positive impact in so many ways. They are volunteering in the community, shining in concerts and performances, achieving success academically and athletically, excelling at the Pathways to Technology program (P-TECH) and the Career and Technical Education Center, and they are participating actively in clubs and extracurricular activities. Their involvement, creativity, and commitment continue to make us proud every day.

This morning, our Elementary School community celebrated a wonderful milestone: our 4th annual Bike to School Day! We had a fantastic turnout with 95 students joining the ride, making the most of the beautiful weather. The group kicked off from the tennis courts, stopped for some fun at the playground, and finished strong at the flagpole in front of the building. This event has become a highlight of our spring calendar, and we are incredibly grateful to all of the people who help make it a safe and joyful experience for our students. We especially want to extend a huge thank you to Mrs. Geiger for organizing this event again this year.

Last week, we received notification that our Elementary School has been recognized by Better Outcomes Research for achieving exceptionally high academic results for students. This recognition reflects the dedication of our students, staff, and families. Our students continue to impress us in so many ways and it has been exciting to see our students’ growth, creativity, and kindness shine throughout the year.

As we begin the final stretch of the 2025–2026 school year, we look forward to many more engaging learning experiences and special moments together.

I’d also like to close this week with a reminder that school budget voting and Board of Education elections will take place next week. Our proposed budget represents a 3.21% increase over last year’s budget, with a proposed tax levy increase of 1.94%, which is the lowest levy increase in the past five years.

The vote will take place on Tuesday, May 19, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM in the Middle/High School LGI. Additional information about the proposed budget can be found on the District Information page of our website.

As always, thank you for your continued support and partnership. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need anything.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Andy Doell
