Message from the Superintendent
Dear Bloomfield School Community,
I hope that you have had a great week. Here is an update with a few highlights and celebrations from across our district.
On Wednesday, 30 district stakeholders, including students, parents, teachers, staff, and administrators, came together for the first session of our Strategic Planning Task Force. This group truly reflects the strength of our community, collaborating to outline how we can achieve the best outcomes and create the greatest opportunities for success for our students.
During this session, participants reviewed local achievement and survey data while aligning our district’s vision with the New York State Portrait of a Graduate and the NY Inspires framework. Through a shared voting process, the group identified a focused set of priority areas that will serve as the foundation for a clear and streamlined roadmap for our future. We look forward to sharing these priorities with the broader community soon as this work continues.
We are also proud to share that the Bloomfield Central School District has once again been recognized by the NAMM Foundation as one of the 2026 Best Communities for Music Education. This marks the fourth consecutive year our district has received this national honor. Now in its 27th year, this award highlights schools and districts across the country for their leadership in expanding equitable access to music education, and we are thrilled to see our continued commitment recognized. This recognition is a credit to our music educators and to the many talented students who take advantage of our music program offerings.
This week, students enrolled in our College & Career Planning course had the opportunity to attend the Rochester Red Wings Careers in Sports Day at Innovative Field. This educational experience is designed to introduce students to a wide range of careers within the sports industry. Through sessions with professionals in areas such as marketing, business operations, and media, students had the chance to gain valuable insight into potential career pathways while connecting classroom learning to real-world opportunities.
As we close out the week, I want to take a moment to recognize several groups whose daily efforts make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students. In celebration of School Lunch Hero Day, National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day, and National Principals Day, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated individuals who feed our students every day with a smile on their faces, who ensure their safe transportation to and from school and activities, and who lead our buildings with care and commitment.
These professionals often work behind the scenes, yet their impact is felt in every classroom and touches every students’ day in some way. We are grateful for the compassion, loyalty, and leadership they bring to our school community, not just this week, but all year long.
As always, thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. Please remember to let us know if you ever have any questions or need anything.
Have a great weekend.
Andy Doell
