Career Quest is an initiative in the MS/HS Counseling Department for grades 6-12.
The goal of Career Quest is to give students an opportunity to be exposed to a variety of professionals and careers.
A career interest survey is given to all students to help the counseling department target careers with high interest.
The MS/HS Counseling Department arranges regularly scheduled speakers and organizes career related field trips.
Students are encouraged to attend the various Career Quests that match their interests.
Speakers are invited to present a 30-40 minute program as well as answer questions.
Speakers are asked to include the following information in their presentations:
- Positive and negative aspects of your career
- Starting salary range
- 'A Day in the Life'
- Important skills required
- What can students do in high school to help them prepare.
Students should listen to morning announcements for opportunities to attend upcoming sessions.
Students must sign up with either the middle or high school counseling office.
Many trips have limited seating and may require an application process.
