Sixth Grade English Taking the Stage - English Class

Hey, check this out.

          In 1600, Shakespeare wrote -

“All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts…”

Then 400 years passed

In 2008, John Mayer sang –

“Even as your eyes are closing’

Do it with a heart wide open

A wide heart.

Say what you want to say.

Say what you want to say.”

These quotes remind me of the reason I teach English.  I am passionate about everyone finding and using and growing their voice.

                   Your voice is unique.

                   Your voice is fresh.

                   Your voice is exciting.

          Most importantly, your voice teaches.

English class is about new perspectives.  New ideas.  It’s the place where you’ll be challenged to think and quite honestly, be changed.  It’s a place to share your extraordinary and experience amazing insights through writings and discussions.  It’s an amazing forum where you’ll be heard and validated.  In short, English class is where Life’s energy bounces off the walls.

So, come energized.

Come ready to debate and challenge ideas.

                   Come with your own perspective.

Come hungry to find the great messages you

are meant to reveal to the world.

The stage is yours…get ready to sing!
