About Me

Dear Bloomfield,

I hope this letter finds you all enjoying a wonderful and relaxing summer. However, as we all know, time flies, and soon the 2016-17 school year will be upon us.  So before it begins, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.

My name is Nick Fargnoli, and I am honored to be the new 6-12 Assistant Principal/Middle School Coordinator at Bloomfield Central School District.  Since I began on July 1st, I have been acquainting myself with the Bloomfield campus and getting to know the community. Each day I am struck by how beautiful the school building and grounds are, but even more so by how welcoming the staff is. As a colleague once told me, schools are not built of bricks and mortar, but of people. Clearly, Bloomfield understands this idea. Its commitment to focusing on people is evidence of a community-wide commitment to education that is both unique and exciting. I look forward to building on this commitment with you over the course of the year.

Before accepting this position, I served as both an English teacher and Dean of Students at Naples Jr./Sr. High School. As a teacher, my primary assignments were English 11, a survey of American Literature, and Gemini English, a college-level English course offered through FLCC. As the Dean of Students, I worked with staff and students to resolve academic and disciplinary matters as they arose and found proactive strategies to prevent them from reoccurring. While serving a split role was often challenging, I enjoyed the opportunity to have deep discussions with both students and staff about complex issues.

Away from school, I enjoy being with my wife and three boys. We spend a lot of our recreational time “going on adventures”—as my children put it—to local parks and museums.  However, when we are home, we tend to our tiny homestead farm. Despite the fact that it is less than an acre, we keep bees, raise chickens, and grow lots of fruits and vegetables.

I’m sure that as the school year begins, I will get the opportunity to  meet many of you; but, if you find yourselves with some extra time, and you want to speak before then, please feel free to contact me by email (nfargnoli@bloomfieldcsd.org) or by phone (585 657-6121 ext.1009) and we can set up a time to meet.
