Welcome to the Bloomfield Middle School Web Page! Hello! My name is Jim West, and I am the Coordinator of the Middle School Program here in the Bloomfield Central School District. The Middle School years are what I like to call, the “Transition Years”, where children become adolescents. As I am sure you can imagine, this makes for a very unique age group and can be a very exciting time in the life of a child. We strive to provide our students with a quality education that supports both rigorous academics and the emotional nature of adolescents. Our goal is to help students: · Be productive citizens, prepared to succeed in a 21st Century world. · Maintain physical and emotional wellness. · Be effective communicators. · Develop and demonstrate a strong work ethic, cooperation, and good sportsmanship. · Possess a sense of self-worth and an appreciation for the worth of others. · Be able to adjust to new situations and accept change as an opportunity for growth. · Learn to be independent, self-reliant individuals who successfully manage their own lives. I look forward to partnering with parents and the community in ensuring that we prepare all of our students to be contributing members of society. Please be sure to check out the links on the left of the screen, and the events listed below so you can be up to date as to what’s happening in our Middle School! J Sincerely, James J.
